These notes have been prepared for speakers who have been invited to speak at the KendraSummit. We are asking you to speak to speak in a style that is very different from a typical business presentation. Please respect the house style and use your talents to get an engaging message across to the audience.

Lightning Talks are

Your audience is going to hear six points of view (you and five others) on a common topic in the space of an hour. We want the audience to feel alert and enthusiastic at the end of the hour. We also want the audience to identify the common themes between all the speakers. That's why we are asking you to adopt a low-fat, high-protein style of speaking.

You have ten minutes to speak. A moderator will signal every two minutes. If you use slides, we suggest no more than five in total. After eight minutes, the moderator will raise a yellow card, which means it's time to start describing the answer to the question you have posed. When there are thirty seconds remaining, the moderator will raise a red card, which is your signal to conclude your speech and hand over to the next speaker.

We know that the day is also a networking opportunity for everyone, and you will want your audience to learn something about you and your organisation. While you are speaking, a hat will be passed around, and any audience member who wants to know more about you than you can squeeze into ten minutes will be invited to drop their business card into the hat. You will then be able to follow up with these people over coffee or lunch.

Thank you for your o-operation.
