Dear All,

2. Sponsor WWW2006 Media Industry event for massive publicity
3. Redistribute WWW2006 Press Release
4. Kendra Initiative updates logo and description
5. Streaming Media Europe 2006 calls for speakers
6. Daniel Harris in London first week of April
1. ROB WELLS, SCOTT COHEN AND PETER BUCKINGHAM TO SPEAK AT WWW2006
I'm really pleased that Rob Wells (Divisional Director, New Media and
Digital Services, Universal Music Group UK), Scott Cohen (Founder and VP
International, The Orchard) and Peter Buckingham (Head of Distribution and
Exhibition, UK Film Council) have all accepted our invitation to speak at
the W3C conference in May. You'll find more information about these
speakers at:
http://www2006.org/index/05.php
A big thanks to Jon Webster, of the British Phonographic Industry, for
connecting us with Rob and Scott; and to Nick Pearson, of the British Film
Institute, for bringing Peter to us. That brings our search for media
speakers to a close. We have organised 7 speakers and 2 x 1.5 hour sessions
for WWW2006. Phew! It's going to be fun.
2. SPONSOR WWW2006 MEDIA INDUSTRY EVENT FOR MASSIVE PUBLICITY
You are invited to sponsor the Media Industry special event at WWW2006.
This is a unique opportunity to promote your products, services and events
to a technical and media savvy crowd. You'll be openly endorsing and
encouraging collaboration between key players from media and technology
industries. Your brand will be made synonymous with the media industry at
the prestigious WWW2006 conference.
Your name will not only be foisted in front of the evening's lucky select
and the rest of the 2000+ conference delegates but will also be featured on
the web site and in email newsletters; and it'll be up in lights, along
side the likes of top brands: Siemens, Microsoft, Verisign, Yahoo!, etc;
and we'll be getting press and media along too.
Oh, and did I forget? It's sure to be a rip roaring fun evening too with
live music, dance, food and good company. Please pass on this great
opportunity to your friends. For more information contact Daniel Harris (by
reply) and see:
http://www.kendra.org.uk/wiki/wiki.pl?WWW2006
3. REDISTRIBUTE WWW2006 PRESS RELEASE
Please redistribute the WWW2006 press release to your internal, external
and press contacts so we can maximise the impact of this coming together of
media and technology industries. For the text see:
http://www.kendra.org.uk/wiki/wiki.pl?WWW2006PressRelease
4. KENDRA INITIATIVE UPDATES LOGO AND DESCRIPTION
Thanks to all those Kendra insiders on our discussions lists for working on
our new description. It's up and live and you'll find it on our home page.
Also you'll find a more dynamic, cleaner, leaner, logo for your
delectation. See:
http://www.kendra.org.uk
5. STREAMING MEDIA EUROPE 2006 CALLS FOR SPEAKERS
Submit your speaker proposal before 30 march 2006 for Streaming Media
Europe - taking place in London, October 2006. They are seeking proposals
and case studies from people who use and manage streaming and digital media
solutions and services in their organisations. If you are working on an
innovative project or if you are willing to share your practical tips,
tools, or strategies for business applications of streaming technology,
then what are you waiting for? Go to:
http://www.streamingmedia.com/europe/call.asp
6. DANIEL HARRIS IN LONDON FIRST WEEK OF APRIL
I'll be making a rare trip to London in the first week of April. If you
would like to hook up and discuss Kendra then let me know by reply. I'll be
showing a sneak preview of Kendra Base (our distributed catalogue
publishing and querying prototype - a proof of concept candidate for Kendra
System) and talking to organisations regarding serious collaboration and
sponsorship.
Please feel free to redistribute this newsletter to you friends. You can
find it online here:
http://www.kendra.org.uk/lists/archive/k-news/msg00049.html
I can feel we're getting closer!... ;-)
Best Regards, Daniel
