[kNT] Ad-Hoc CDN Protocols

Hello all,

At the request of Daniel Harris I am e-mailing you all about the protocols we have developed for creating ad-hoc CDNs. These protocols fit into our concept of a "Content-Addressable Web" and extend HTTP by allowing replicas of content to be uniquely identified and tracked across the network.

These protocols allow content to be securely downloaded from completely untrusted caches, and enables downloads to occur from multiple replicas in parallel.

I feel that the "Content-Addressable Web" could provide a solid foundation for the Kendra initiatives, so I encourage you to check them out and provide your feedback.

Specifications for the Content-Addressable Web protocols can be found at (http://open-content.net/specs/).

In particular, you will want to read the "HTTP Extensions for a Content-Addressable Web", and "Tree Hash EXchange" specifications.

Thanks,
