[kFW] A question of VAT...

I need some advice from a VAT expert...

I've been told we can't register for VAT because Kendra Foundation  
isn't selling anything - donations aren't VAT-able income it seems.  
This means that over the course of P2P-Next we could end up loosing  
just under 10K GBP in VAT. Seems a shame.

This is from our accountants. I asked the question. Naturally, they  
charged a professional fee for answering. I'd like to ask more  
questions on VAT without being charged. Anybody here know a VAT  
expert that wont charge or prepared to sponsor our questions on VAT?

We also came up with the idea of selling merchandise with the Kendra  
logo on it but it seems that it would only enable us to claim for  
costs towards the merchandise part Kendra - so not much then.

Any ideas?

I know this is all very boring but it's really best to do all this  
company ground work now rather than have it come and bite us later on.
