Re: [kFW] Disney cartoon lambasts evil music-sharing
Richard, thanks for your email. I have ab-sol-ute-ly no problem with
comedy. It would be great if there was more on these lists. Honest! I love
it. Homour is a very powerful thing and so we should use it. It's a useful
tool too. But let's put it in the context of what we are trying to do here.
All I was asking for was a bit of pre-amble that placed the humour into
context; to know why Rupert thinks we should follow the link. I am
interested in what people think themselves. And there *was* a reason. I
just had to *dig* for it. Did you know my middle name is Digger? ;-)
It's about a better use of our collective brain resources. The more effort
put into an email by the sender (1) the less effort needed by the
recipients (69). I take hours over my emails - rereading - rewriting.
Sometimes, they are left for days - refining.
The guidelines suggest ways of writing clearer, smaller emails that are
more likely to be read and no one has criticised them - but I wait in hope!
For example, all we need is a URL not the whole text. I am concerned that
people are turned off really quickly from reading long emails and hence
turned off of a list, such as this.
I didn't mean to be harsh and I'm sorry if I was.
Why "Digger"? Cos I dig holes and then try and figure out how to get out of
them. It's great fun! ;-)
Cheers Daniel
