Re: [kEv] Speaking: China: Broadband World Forum Asia June 5 to 8...
Now we have to raise funds to get me out there and to pay for stand
materials. So far I've sent emails to my DTI contacts and to the
British Council in Beijing. See below for my wordage. Any comments
would be most helpful. Cheers Daniel

I have been asked, on behalf of Kendra Initiative [1], to speak in
China at the Broadband World Forum Asia [2] in Beijing, June 5 to 8.
We have also been given a complimentary stand at this event. Kendra
Initiative has many UK company members drawn from a wide range of
media and communications sectors.
This is a great opportunity to gain insight and increase exposure to
the Chinese market for UK companies.
Kendra Initiative is looking for financial assistance for expenses
that our involvement in Broadband World Forum Asia will incur. This
will include travel, accommodation, stand printed materials (posters
and leaflets). We estimate that the total figure could be in the
region of six thousand pounds.
Momentum is gathering within the Initaitive as there is now generally
seen to be a real need for an open media marketplace. The
International Engineering Consortium, the organisers of Broadband
World Forum Asia, found out about Kendra Initiative and myself from
my speaking at W3C's annual conference last year [3]. Recent invites
to speak include the BAPLA Picture Buyers' Fair in May and Broadcast
LIVE in June.
Please could you direct me to a place/person (if not yourself) that
would be best suited to help us raise these funds. Sponsors will be
acknowledged on the Kendra Initiative website and on printed materials.
Many thanks for your time. Do not hesitate to get back to me with any
questions.
Best regards,
Daniel Harris
