[kEv] Events asking for more Kendra panels/speakers...
Kendra Initiative has been approached by two more events post IPTV
World Forum:
1. http://www.broadcastlive.co.uk - London: Interested in us putting
together a panel. Sending more info next week. Probably will include
a stand. Audiences are 1000+ for conference and 8000+ for exhibition.
2. http://www.tripleplay-events.com - Budapest: Want me to run a
panel with 3 or 4 media industry speakers for 45 minutes. ViB will
supply two night's 5 star accommodation and economy flights for the
speakers. The audience will be a select group of around 200 (mostly)
telecoms companies wanting to get into tripleplay.
These events would be good to do. Good for Kendra. Good for getting
the word out. They wont "cost" Kendra Initiative anything. However,
those who volunteer to plan, manage and attend these events have to
personally foot the bill in time/cash. Logistics for these events are
quite considerable.
What can we do about this? I and others would surely love to be
constantly giving up our time for Kendra Initiative. But this is not
sustainable for more than a couple of events per year.
Can we leverage more out of these events? For instance, are there
people in the media industry that would love to talk to a select
group of telecos or a big bunch of the broadcast fraternity? And
possibly make donations to Kendra Initiative? Or are there people
that would love to be on a stand and yack about what they do as well
as the odd mention of Kendra?
It seems like there's an opportunity here to help Kendra along but it
seems like this effort has got to get paid for in one way or another.
Events don't provide speaker fees above flights and accommodation it
seems.
Any ideas?...
Cheers Daniel
