[kEv] Summit: times, schedule and format...
TIMES:
There was discussion at Imli to shorten the advertised duration of the Summit. This was proposed by Jonathan to keep the event sharp and concise. Currently, it's billed as 0930 to 1730. We have to be out of the room at 1830. To be honest, getting this number of quality people in a room at one time is a pretty unique and precious event and my feeling is that it's to everyone's benefit to keep the space for as long as we have issues to explore.
If there is a need to shorten the day we need to have strong reasons why. We could keep the same times but have an hour at the start and end for networking (always a good thing and a major lack in many conferences). As I said there are going to be some very interesting people along - some of whom will have traveled a long way - and I'll personally want to spend as much time as possible with them. And I'm sure some of you will too. And go out for an evening meal too.
Take a look at the proposed structure:

Thoughts? Please modify wiki and post to this thread.
FORMAT/SCHEDULE:
Bob/Gordon? Do we have any more thoughts on the schedule and format of the day?
So far we've talked about oscillating between group work and "short, sharp business strategy and technology briefings" - these briefings would be very brief - from 5 to 10 minutes. What about open discussion?
Everyone in that room will have an interesting angle on the subject and should be given the opportunity, one way or another, to have their say. Perhaps we should even request (is "require" too strong a word?) that everyone puts their viewpoint - this should not be a meeting for cloaked lurkers.
Please keep this discussion on list and avoid posting to me directly unless absolutely necessary. My Net access is sporadic/limited at the moment and we need to collaborate together. Many thanks.
Cheers Daniel
