[kDev] Please test this and Kendra Base Email Module idea...
You'll see, at the bottom of the last email I sent about meetings
(corrected version), a list of links to register easily for the
meetings. I'm getting a bit paranoid because it doesn't seem like
anybody's tried it yet. Could someone just give it a go, please?
Let me know if there seems to be problems please.
Right, now, so the Kendra Base Email Module idea is an extension of
this easy way of registering for things. It may be a questionnaire -
multiple choice - or any list of options. The point here is that we'll
be able to take any set of questions and present them via email. And
the email links will be auto-generated, given the data set, and
personal to the receiver with a check specific to that user and that
email.
What's nice about this is that some people tend to work better with
emails so we could also give the option of auto-email reply links such
as:
Kendra Initiative Meeting 25/02/2004 - Register by clicking on:
http://www.kendra.org.uk/meetreg.php?meet=1&user=1&check=20000510125016
Or email:
mailto:thisisjustanidea@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx?
subject=48fh38fdhrh5u5htrbfb45848e78
So, if people want, they can work completely off line via email.
The key here is that registering for meetings, events, groups, forums,
ideas and polls becomes and one click operation with no need to log
into a website! Joy of joy! And because the email module will be
handling all the link building and and registering process there'll be
no need to hack code each time you have a new set of questions. Joy of
joy!
