[kDev] Apology and Appreciation...

Dear All,

I'm really sorry... I'm really sorry that I persist in keeping these lists publicly open. I'm sorry because I know how difficult it is for us to say what we really think in public. I know it seems like anyone could be listening and those anyones could take what we say and use it for their own gain (or even against us) and we'd loose out because there's never enough to go around and we all have to get to the top of the pile and so it's not easy being open and having to compete for the not-enough-stuff at the same time.

And I'm sorry for berating people that post really-good-and-useful-stuff to me off list. I wont do that any more. It's just that I see the power of sharing ideas and want to maximise on any idea by sharing them. I just can't see any other way of doing this but to keep it all open and public.

I know I'm not the easiest guy to get along with. I'm making a lot of big demands. Heck, Kendra is one big demand, aint it?! ;-) The creation of Kendra could bring lots of change to the way we do things. Perhaps it's not possible to create Kendra *until* we've changed the way we do things. Perhaps it's not possible to create something *until* we've created the conditions for it to exist. Work that one out! Perhaps that's what we're doing here.

Thanks! Thanks for being here. Thanks for listening and for posting to this list. Even in just listening we have taken a huge step and listed ourselves on the Kendra website and said "I am (at least) listening". Even that is such a courageous move in this day and age. This is incredible. Kendra is such a huge vision. And we've got hundreds of people on the website putting their name to it. Incredible. Kendra would be nothing without all these people. Nothing without us. Incredible. We all deserve a huge round of applause. Massive congratulations for getting this far. Well done everyone!

Well, can't stop, just rushing out the door for the University of Westminster. Richard Barbrook has invited me to talk to his Hypermedia Studies MA students about Kendra. Will be fun! ;-)

Cheers Daniel
