[kDev] IETF London meet: Kendra draft submission...
Hi there Dudes,
While meeting with a few clued up people at the Hong Kong W3C conference a
consensus formed that we should submit a draft document to the IETF in time
for the London meeting in August. I've had a look at the IETF website and
there's plenty of time.
It was suggested that the document be a short write up of what we are up to
with the Kendra Network Trial. Simply say what we are doing with the
current ISP and CDN participants and how we have technically achieved this.
And put it up for comment. If we could evaluate current drafts and relate
them to what we are doing then even better. I know the kNT is basic in it's
operation but I still think it's worth putting it forward and get some
discussion going.
In terms of my input on this for the next few months I'm going to be a bit
geographically (and probably emailly) challenged. I'm off to mainland China
tomorrow. I return to UK end of June. The cut off date for the draft
submission is July 13th. Loads of time! But it would be good if we could
all chip in a bit.
Beyond all this a way of getting more developers interested in what we are
doing is to start implementing some reference specs within the kNT. Ask the
spec writers loads of questions. They then get interested in what we are up to.
Thanks especially to Rob Lanphier for his input on this one. I know some of
this stuff has been mentioned before but, I guess, sometimes it takes me a
while to "get it"...
Comments?
Cheers Daniel
